The editorial team on the International Journal of Wine Business Research (IJWBR) has named Professor Debbie Ellis as one of their Outstanding Reviewers in the 2020 Emerald Literati Awards for Excellence.
Ellis, an Associate Professor of Marketing Management in the School of Management, Information Technology and Governance, has been contributing to the IJWBR as a reviewer since 2014. This latest accolade recognises that the quality of her reviews are of international standard and rewards her dedication and commitment in the field of marketing, and particularly wine marketing, internationally.
According to Emerald Publishing Limited, Outstanding Reviewers were selected based on the timeliness of the reviews, the quality of the reviews, the depth of reviews and the amount of detail they provide to authors.
Ellis has established herself as a trusted expert in the field of marketing and consumer behaviour. Journals such as the IJWBR and constituents of the wine industry benefit enormously from her deep understanding of wine consumers, the factors that affect their purchasing and consumption behaviours and how they respond to the various marketing tools used by the industry.
Delighted about the recognition, she said: ‘This award is acknowledgment of a critical service I have performed for my academic community (marketing and consumer behaviour academics). I have chosen to invest in my academic community and where possible, to develop my fellow community members to assist them in improving their research and publications.’
Ellis is a seasoned reviewer having served on 27 editorial boards of accredited journals since 1999, including the British Food Journal, 2019-2021; International Journal of Innovation and Sustainable Development (Scopus), 2020-2021; International Journal of Wine and Business Research, (Scopus), 2014 – 2020; African Journal of Marketing Management, 2020; Journal of Electronic Commerce in Organisations, (Scopus), 2018 – 2020; Journal of Marketing Education, (Scopus), 2019-2020; Journal of Public Affairs, 2020; Journal of Strategic Marketing, (Scopus), 2019; Journal of Wine Research, (Scopus), 2017, 2020; Management Dynamics, 1999 – 2004, 2020; Journal of Advertising Research, (ISI), 2018, 2019; and Journal of Consumer Behaviour, (ISI), 2019.
